Renovation Plasterers

Coast Plastering Renovations

Fresh plasterboard, set and painted, lifts the whole feel of a home, and tidy interior plastering can add real value when it comes time to sell. We take on all sorts of plastering and renovation projects, from remodelling walls and ceilings through to sharpening up the interiors of bathrooms and kitchens. We genuinely enjoy being part of the renovation and restoration of Queenslanders, and this work often ties in with new ceilings and everyday residential plastering once the walls are back in shape. Whatever the age or style of the home, our aim is a finish that looks like it was always meant to be there.

Plastering Services For Renovations

We plaster walls and ceilings to a clean, professional finish. If you are renovating or extending a home anywhere across the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, the Gold Coast or Northern New South Wales, we can look after the plastering side for you. Whether you are building something new, reworking an existing space or repairing damage, we can help, and because we have carpenters and painters on the team we can take care of more than just the plasterboard. Coast Plastering are well regarded residential and commercial plasterers in Queensland, with a strong name for careful workmanship and genuine service. It also helps to know that plastering generally uses two families of material: plaster based products, which suit indoor use because they do not cope well with moisture, and cement based products, which handle both indoors and outdoors.

Different Types Of Plastering

What Will Suit Your Home?

  • Plasterboard or drywall: the most common interior method, where sheets are fixed to the wall framing and the joints are set and sanded until they are smooth and invisible under paint. Sheets come in different grades for sound rated rooms, wet areas and fire resistance, so the right board can be matched to each space in the home.
  • Veneer plaster: similar to plasterboard, but rather than setting only the joints, the plasterer skims a thin, even coat across the whole sheet for a smooth, seamless surface that paints up beautifully. Textured versions are also popular where you want a little more character on the wall.
  • Venetian veneer plaster: a decorative finish polished back in fine layers to a soft, marble like sheen. It works well as a feature in an entry or living space and sits nicely alongside our ornamental plastering work.
  • Exterior render: applied to outside walls and sometimes called stucco. It ranges from a rough, stone like texture through to a smooth trowelled finish, along with coloured render where oxides tint the surface, and pebble finishes where small stones are pressed in for a decorative touch.
  • Roughcast: a hard wearing exterior coat where a wet mix of sand, cement and fine stone is thrown onto the wall so the texture becomes part of the surface. It has long been favoured on older homes for how well it stands up to the weather.
  • Rough and pebble finishes: a coarser mix of pebbles, sand and cement spread onto the wall with a trowel for a rustic, textured result. It is less common now, but it still suits many country style homes.
  • Modern render: a smooth exterior coat mixed from lime, cement, sand and water in the right ratio. The aim is a clean, even finish rather than the coarse look of a rougher render.
